Review: Gotham – Season 2, Episode 22 “Transference”

It’s time to say goodbye to Gotham. I cannot think of a better way than with Bobby Darin’s mournful ballad, “The Curtain Falls.”

Review: Gotham – Season 2, Episode 21 “A Legion of Horribles”

I want this show to be over. More accurately, I want my self-imposed obligation to review this show every week to be over. How many ways can I say “this show is batshit”? Not many.

Review: Gotham – Season 2, Episode 19 “Azrael”

It’s finally happened. After almost two seasons, this wannabe Batman show finally has a Batman! He’s not called Batman, he’s called Azrael, but he jumps from rooftop to rooftop and swirls his cape dramatically, so it’s the same thing. We did it, guys! WE. DID. IT!!

Review: Gotham – Season 2, Episode 18 “Pinewood”

Hey, 2016? You need to leave us a few music legends. You can’t take them all in the same year. I cannot abide a world where both David Bowie and Prince die within months of each other.

I remember being 11 or 12 and obsessively watching MTV in hopes of seeing the video for “7.” I remember laughing at “Batdance.” “1999” was ubiquitous the closer we got to December 31, 1999. I can’t tell you how many times I danced to “When Doves Cry” at goth clubs across the Denver Metro area. But some of my favorite songs are off the Diamonds and Pearls album. Songs like “Thunder,” “Daddy Pop,” and, of course, “Gett Off.”

Some people are just special. Special, uber talented, and operating on a level most of us cannot see let alone fathom. Prince was one of these people. RIP, Prince. The world is a little less purple now.

Review: Gotham – Season 2, Episode 17 “Into the Woods”

Apologies for the tardiness of this review. I was out of town for the week and didn’t get a chance to do any reviewing. I fell asleep watching Forensic Files at least three times, though. Those were some fun dreams.

Review: Gotham – Season 2, Episode 16 “Prisoners”

Oh, hey. I almost forgot there was an episode of Gotham this week because I watched the Supergirl/Flash crossover instead. (Verdict: Adorable. If I didn’t have to get a special app to watch Supergirl, I’d watch it every week. And I don’t even like Supergirl all that much.)

I was also distracted by the nightmare fodder known as Batman v. Superman. Rob Bricken, a.k.a. He Who Is Alway Right, calls the universe this movie is set in the Murderverse. He is 100% correct. (However, I will admit that Ben Affleck was a good Batman and he looks so perfect as Bruce Wayne that it makes me irrationally angry. I mean:)
